Eat on La Rambla, or one street off it?

La Rambla is a fine promenade, but it isn’t known for its food: the good places to eat are in the streets that run off it, and there are a good many. We’re in one of them.

You leave the promenade, you walk thirty metres and you’re on the stone paving of Carrer de Santa Anna, which is pedestrianised, and we’re at number 8.

Walk up the street and you reach Plaça Catalunya in six minutes, which is where the Catalunya metro, lines 1 and 3, comes out.

The other way, La Rambla runs down to the sea, and everything you pass on the way down is less than twenty minutes from our door.

Where to eat near Las Ramblas

In the old town you can eat anything you like: kitchens from all over the world, and something for every taste.

If it’s rice you’re after, you’re in the right place. This is one of the restaurants near Plaça Catalunya that people come to for it: six on the card, among them black rice with cuttlefish ink, plus the fideuà. They’re all homemade.

In the centre of Barcelona

The centre of Barcelona is walkable. It’s small, and there is so much in it that you could spend more than a day just getting lost in the streets of the Gothic Quarter.

And if you’re hungry at four in the afternoon? Our kitchen doesn’t close: tapas and paellas at any hour, every day from 11:00 to 23:30, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Mercat de la Boqueria The market, on La Rambla. 6 min · 419 metres from Santa Anna

These are walking times, from the door and along the streets.

From La Rambla: turn into Carrer de Santa Anna and we’re thirty metres in, at number 8.

From the Catalunya metro, lines 1 and 3: come out onto the square and walk down Portal de l’Àngel; Santa Anna is the first street on the right, six minutes from the square.
